I haven't used one, but I handle one for about an hour at a gun shop. The glass is excellent! The turrets and construction are very solid. The clicks on the turrets are very positive, tactile, and audible. The MOA reticle in the 101 model is the best reticle design they offer. I prefer mil reticles, but I'd switch to MOA with the TARS. One thing to know about the scope is that it's literally feels like a brick when you hold it for the first time. It's heavy and it's noticeable. These scopes are confidence inspiring with durability and ruggedness, I can understand the relation of this scope to an ACOGs bombproofness. I feel that the TARS is an excellent scope, but the price tag is a bit heavy for the magnification range. There are better options at the price range for scopes and cheaper options for the mag range. If these scopes went for $2500 street price and under $2000 on demo or used models they would be a very strong competitor in the optics market. If you need a scope that will endure past what the operator can endure, then look no further, but if you just need a good tactical scope there could be better options with other manufacturers.
