Trimming for accuracy

All:

I've got once fired Lapua .223. It was trimmed to start. I've resized them, and they're within 3-4 thousandths length wise. Do I need to trim? I'm shooting these to develop a load for my LaRue OBR. Just wondering if there is a significant difference in accuracy with brass tolerances in that range.

Do most accuracy shooters trim every time?

If not, when do I trim?

Thanks!

Unless your a world champion benchrest shooter, the answer is no on exact trim length, get a Sinclair Chamber Length Gauge to figure out exactly what your trim length is, its a lot longer than book trim lengths.

They are cheap and work great. Just make sure you do the measurement a few times to verify your dimension.

Below is a picture of a similar but same product they are talking about. It is basically a plug you put into a scrap peice of brass that you have trimmed real short. You put the plug in the case and chamger it. Pull it out and measure the lengths. Like stated above, do it 4-5 times to confirm the measurement. You will be suprised that it is no where near the trim length listed in your reloading manaul
