Tripod shooting...with Labradar?

Anyone use their Labradar, while shooting from tripod?

Guessing chrono would need to be co-height w/ rifle...but seems it would work same at 4' high, like it does from the deck.

Looking to track MV during most range sessions...to correlate air temp/MV relationship, consistency, etc., and lately I've been trying to lessen my prone training. (can hear Frank..."get off your belly")

I know the MS will work, but interested in the Labradar.

Tripod at standing pistol height is commonly used. The Labradar can be above or below the barrel, not just to the sides.
As long as it is properly aimed at the target and you are within the 18" max of expected off set it will work.

A properly sturdy accessory arm or other horizontal photo mounting gear attached to the rifle tripod may be a viable option for you.

Copy. So the LR could be sitting on the ground below the rifle (that's on the tripod)?... or is the 18" offset you mention referring to height?

Bottom line, wondering if I'll need another 5' tall tripod to make this work.

It could be on the ground, attached to a sufficiently strong magic arm on one of your tripod legs, mounted on a shorter tripod in front etc.

The offset is the distance from the barrel to the black edges of the Labradar.

It can work either way.

My closest gun range's benches are not long enough for suppressed long guns (fore and aft) so I use a tripod to mount my Labradar to. My tripod is a FotoPro Max. On extra windy days it has a detachable hook on the bottom of the center column so I can hang some weights to it so it doesn't tip over. A few years ago at the same range a fellow shooter had the wind knock off his table top labradar and it broke.

I use a quick clamp to hold mine when using a bench, better safe than sorry.

Ah, sorry. I read it as "just not to the sides", instead of "not just". It's been a looong day...
