I have a crappy tripod for my current spotting scope that I have had since I was 15.

What should I be looking for in a tripod for field use for the new spotting scope I am going to get?

I haven't nailed down the spotting scope yet.

thanks

Re: Tripod

A friend of mine has one from platypus which is his user name. Very good setup I ordered both the small and medium tripod and both cradles. Very helpful with communications and pics. Check them out.

Re: Tripod

Here is a pic of the small tripod mooreguns mentioned. Its a great little piece of equipment. The cradle is removeable and a spotter can be mounted in its place.

Re: Tripod

That is a neat little tripod. I've always used a large standard tripod that just goes on the ground beside the table. Shooting from table, great. Shooting from prone, maybe not so good.
