Troy BattleRail MRF-308 13.8" - experience?

Re: Troy BattleRail MRF-308 13.8" - experience?

Anyone know the weight on it? I can't find anything, and would like to know if this is the right route to go...

Also, will it work with an ar-10t barrel? I notice i have to utilize the original ar10 barrel nut and not the ar10t nut...

No idea about the AR10 nut as what I am putting together is on a DPMS pattern rifle. The 13.8 forend I have coming has a proprietary barrel nut for use on the DPMS guns. I will certainly let you know my feelings on the rail when I get it hopefully in the next week. I have shot off a couple Troy forends already and liked the weight and extra length of the forend on my 16" barrel to increase sight radius for iron sights and getting the bipod farther out on a free floating forend. I still need to scratch up a low profile gas block for this project along with a JP enterprises trigger package but should be in the hunt from there.

I have one; they are well made. I don't know the weight, but it does completely cover the gas block. You have to file a notch in the barrel nut for the gas tube to sit in, but that only takes a couple of seconds to do with a round file.

Here's what mine looks like on a LR308:
