Trump is such an asshole!

When it comes to border security and the invasion across our southern border, I'm an all of the above kind of patriot: By Any Means Necessary. Bullets, Artillery, Minefields, Nukes.

You registered all of 3 days ago and still can't spell "corrupt" ?

WTF, I thought we taught everyone that on their first day ???

Damn.

75 yrs old, ask his Ranger class number and the easy answer, where did he go to ranger school or jump school. Sounds like bullshit to me

Offer to take him off shore fishing if he lies and won't go away.

R.I.P. to the fallen, but ya'll some suckers if you think the published story is even close to the truth. I'm sure the operators were doing a completely different mission, and in an area we're not supposed to be.

Or a couple of A-10's..................
Yup Saved our asses a few times for sure.

Immigration in the US is so broken. I'm not one to drink the "build the wall" Koolaid as its more or less a red herring to rally pissed off people rather than a meaningful solution. I do agree that a barrier in some, or many, border areas can and should be part of the solution. But if one thinks a full wall is the cure they're not paying attention.

Throughout my career I've worked in and had apartments in, many countries. With that I've had to deal with all kinds of immigration issues - visas, work permits, residency, etc. Something most Americans have never dealt with and have no clue about (if they even bothered to go and see the world).

In most places in the world you are extremely limited in what you are able to do without legal status in a country. You can't stay in a hotel, rent an apartment, buy a home, go to school, etc. Health care is for immediate emergency treatment - that's about it. If you are encountered by anyone in an official capacity you are immediately detained and deported. You don't go back to where you are staying to get your things, you're not freed for a future hearing - you are arrested and removed. If that happens its going to be an uphill battle to get back in legally.

I came close to taking a position running my company's group of European companies for a few years. In that case family would have been relocated as well. It would take some time to get everything in order - I couldn't just pack up and go (even though I had a temporary work visa my family did not). Even being there legally in every respect, working and employing many people, and in full compliance with their laws, my daughter could not attend the public school. Even if she took language lesson and got up to speed it was a "NO". We would have to pay for her to go to a private school (Company would have covered it in my case). It really was a lateral move for me and we identified another member of the exec team to take the gig so we never made the move.

Its a big difference when you are essentially denied access to basic services and in hiding so, at the time I was there, they really didn't have much in the way of immigration issues. (Things are changing with refugees in recent years though those refugees are identified and documented temporarily until permanent residency eligibility is determined.)

As stated above - I care little about the "Wall". I'd much rather see our time and energy put into making and enforcing rules that simply force immigrants into compliance. I'm a 1st gen American so appreciate having immigration but we need to set and adhere to standard for admission.

Interestingly, many of those on the left that are opposed to immigration reform or even enforcement of existing laws are the same that want more benefits for all in this country - healthcare and basic pension programs for all. Many other countries have those programs and they provide some peace for their citizens. You don't have a lot of people approaching retirement that are stressed out over healthcare and basic income during retirement so there something to be said for it (though that's another discussion entirely). The point is - those programs work better in those countries in part due to a stable population base of citizens (only citizens are eligible).

I read it, but you lost me when you disparaged the wall.

But yes, we need to lock down in all illegal immigrants in this country. Operating with impunity is awful for everyone

If they stocked the river with gators and hippos it would be more humane. Many drown every day trying to cross. How many would even get in the water if they were going to get eaten.
Watching gators or a hippo shred someone would keep the water clear for days until the next eager person attempted the crossing.

I am not sure I would use the word "broken", how about ignored.....but that really does not say what I want to say.

We have laws on the books, good laws and processes to come to this country, they are being ignored at best, and given the middle finger at worst.

A 70' deep 70' high wall would do wonders on the southern border. Think the Berlin wall on steroids that is what is needed. I would wonder if the private land owners would have an issue allowing access for the construction or manning of such a structure, kind of doubt it. I don't think Bill Gates owns all that yet. And even if they are not on board, it would not be the first time the .gov took private property for the "national interest". I don't agree with that, and I don't think it would come to that with people that are LIVING on that section of the US.

After that is built, and while it is built, start tossing these pukes out of the country. If you get arrested for a crime, ship your ass to a brand new state of the art facility on the Mexico border, built to the highest standards of top incarceration facilities in the world. Model them off of facilities in Mexico, Iraq, Rwanda...the list goes on and on. We stupid americans can learn from the rest of the world.

Ok that will take care of quite a few, what about the rest. Well I am not a heartless libertarian slob, you came to america for the "american dream" here is your chance. We will take a page out of the Orange Free state, and the ZAR....Boer states in south africa around 1900. You can live here, pay taxes here, do everything americans can do here, but you can't vote for 10 years, and you must become a US citizen inside those 10 years. If not, there is the door, sorry this is the United States, the year is 2024, we have a culture and your home country is not our's. There will be no other flags flying higher then the US flag, If only one flag is flying it must be the US flag, all others can be flown from private property as long as it is lower. You will also learn the standard language in this country (english).

All official documents are in english, if you can't read it, too bad LEARN to, or you can't drive, get a credit card, sign a lease.....whatever.

I have a feeling it would cost far less then that spent in Ukraine. And there is even a possiblilty for skimming off the top still. Corruption can still exist so why would they oppose it.

Eh just a rant, its friday, I don't want to do anything today. I am stuck at work, it is going to be 60, and I have 15 rounds loaded up that need testing. My mind is everywhere but here today.

A wonderful idea would be for the government to sell range tickets for the southern border to bring down our national debt. 100yd,500yd and 1000yd pricing . Daily and seasonal passes available.
Yes, and get coins for hits on the first shot, like some of these informal long distance events are like.

Easy way to get rid of them all...

No closed season. $50 bounty. Tell everyone South of the Mason Dixon line that they love General Sherman, Hate NASCAR and taste like Fried Chicken. Tell everyone North of the Border that they are here to look at the leaves, taste like venison and think Mrs. Butterworths is Maple Syrup.

Problem goes away in a week.

don’t shoot them in the legs. just shoot ‘em. they are invading

Walls that keep out also keep in if they are managed by people who like control.

Also, Mexico isnt going to do anything. The cartels have them under their thumb. And so does China in an increasing fashion. With China investing in Mexico the way it is, supplying the cartels with the ingredients for fentanyl and paying the cartels to move Chinese over the border there should be zero expectation that Mexico will do one damn thing of consequence.

The wall isn’t the problem. It’s our leadership. They want them here, they don’t want you. Seems that there is ample evidence out there at this point to support that conclusion.

While the wall is an emotional hot button it will solve nothing without the government deciding to fully stop the immigration. At this point, with various groups flying them into the country the wall is nothing more than another Maginot Line. If those in power want them in they will get them in. And then not arrest them when they rape, kill and steal. And if they get off free from committing crimes but you can’t one needs to be asking serious questions about whether or not that is the actual purpose for them being here. Besides voting for socialism at the first opportunity.

The wall is hopium and a distraction.

I hear all this 4D and 5D chess crap. Why is it we spent 20+ years in the sandbox to stop perceived threats of terrorism and we won't spent a fraction of that on the border? Really, seriously. This is not a threat on a foreign shore. This is on our border.

Something else I have been thinking about: all the emotion around every issue these last years. The emotional reaction is the goal because emotions do not allow room for detached, critical thinking about a situation.

9/11 got us the Patriot Act.
Covid got us lockdowns and mass hysteria.
BLM got us division and burned cities.
Mass shootings result in more gun control.
The list goes on.

Emotional reactions cloud judgment which in turn allow for mistakes that result in predictable outcomes of less freedom and more opportunities for 1984. Emotions are THE trap as emotional reactions are usually not wise, thought through or long lived. If I have a desired outcome that you will oppose but I can deflect you with an event that draws you in emotionally I can either distract you with whatever it is you are obsessing over and attain my goal while you are not looking or get you to get on board with what I want because you will react in the moment and not think through the chain of results. Or I can manipulate you to break laws, arrest you and possibly move a large percentage of the population against you as I form the surrounding narrative. I wonder if this latest convoy and others that are heading down there are about to find themselves in this situation.

There are no answers in this post, just some internal thoughts of mine about the human monkey brain.

And, at some point, people just erupt. Such as the French Revolution, in which bad actors, as bad as any of the aristocracy they deposed, gained power. But the people wanted blood.

And they got it.

I have said for years that we need to forget a wall. Build watch towers every 1000 yards. Put trained Snipers in each and tell them that no one crosses illegally. After they start to pile up bodies, people will reconsider crossing g except for official check points.

It has spines, once it’s up there it deploys them making it impossible to remove without medical attention
