The story was out more than a year and a half ago, and now we have confirmation and many of the details have been filled in.
As Barr and Durham (and the IG) uncover more of the scam, the remaining staff at the fbi and doj are scrambling to "review and correct" any of the statements they made to investigators in the last 3 years (they know the gig is up). This has the effect of annoying delays in the IG reports on Fisa abuse, Comey's lack of candor and other ongoing investigations.

What I disagree with in your post is that it seems you indicate there is some sort of "unsurety" if that was a word regards what state our govt is currently in.

The crimes currently committed are way more substantial and there is much more proof than anything that came about in watergate yet we have these people saying "Hmmm we have to look into this more...."

I think the reason for that is that the media is running cover for the criminals. The media has failed its obligations to earn it special protected status.
