The Canadian thing is legit...Armalite did offer (primarily through 7.62SASS's site along with a few others like Impact) a copy of the Canadian military contract rifles (A Super SASS with a different stock essentially), but brand new, the price was still basically just over 1/4 of the current asking price (including the Viper).
