TT primary or Timney 517 v2?

Hi all, I recently made a post about what action to go with for my new first fully custom build. I have to decided to go with the origin action. I’m looking between these two triggers as they are in my budget at the moment. The Timney I found one for $144 and a TT for $165. Which one is best? Or does anyone have a Flat trigger for around the same price that’s best?

What are you using the rifle for? That will help decide which fits the purpose better. Also you didn’t say which model each was.

Models are in the title, TT primary, or the Timney 517 v2. The rifles gonna be just a like general target rifle, and I shoot long range a handful of times a year.

If it’s your first trigger, both will be fine.

Both are too heavy for my preference, add a bit more money and get an upgraded version. You should be able to find a special for what you quoted a primary price as. If it was a month ago and july4 sales were happening it would have the special for that price.

The trigger is the most important part imo. If you can’t get it to go off when you want it to, then it’s not good enough. Both of those you’ve mentioned feels like I’m lifting weights instead of shooting a nice rifle.

Understood, yeah I’m use to a savage accutrigger, set around 2lbs. So I figured either at 1.5lbs would be a huge upgrade for me. Maybe ill look for a primary or a HIT, was really looking for a sub $200 trigger

I found a NIB TT special Flat for $175 shipped. Seems to be a little better fit for $10 more than a Primary.

I’d see if there are any Labor Day sales, I don’t think they are all at list price everywhere like they currently are. I got a primary for a backup that was 120 just 4 months ago on Memorial Day or some similar holiday.
