Anybody have any hands on with this bolt. I am thinking about one for my 300 ultramag sendero project.(Is every gun a project or is it just me?) So far I have a timmley trigger,H-S bottom metal/with detachable mag.(to go with the H-S factory stock ) and a JP Enterprise brake(works like a charm). It shoots 1" groups with factory ammo 180gr scirocco.at 100yd.Wonder how much the advrage charge is to fit a 700 bolt? The tubbs bolt is about $400 but boasts alot of upgrades . But then agian it all sounds great in the ad. Also what are the thoughts about bedding a H-S stock? Any input would be great. I just got a FNAR for anything out to 500 yd so this Rem. 700. is going to be my long range rig.Have narrowed my scope choice to either the 10x or 16x SWFA with 20 m.o.a. base but have not picked a brand or rings yet?I know I,m friggin rambling but this stuff is better than sex, drugs,or rock'n roll.

Re: Tubbs Rem 700 bolt

Just get a PTG bolt. A lot of the Tubb "upgrades" are considered debatable by many knowledgeable folks. The one that really stands out to me as a downgrade, not an upgrade, is the sako extractor. There have been several incidents where severe injuries were cause by extractors blowing back into people faces: I'll stick with a Remington thank you very much.

+1 for 300sniper.

About your question about bedding the stock. I like the idea. The HS stock is awesome, but if you can improve rigidity you help with repeatability.
