Range Report turets, are they what is known as clicks?

I am very very new to the art...are turets the same as clicks, and how do mil dots work?.

You can find alot about what your looking at and for using google too there a wealth of knowledge on the web. But their is a vast array of reticles, and scopes, from EBR reticles to TMR, and all the great nightforce stuff.
