A friend brought me a 1909 Argentine with the action twisted on. Looks like Bubba has struck again. I feel I should be able to straighten it out. Anyone have any experience with this?
Yep. Small moves and patience. The bolt will tell you how you end up. On an action like a mauser, trust your eyes. Theres likely not too many straight surfaces to start with.
Thanks, its always great to have someone validate your own prognosis. It broke my heart a little to see this honorable old warhorse so abused. Once I have her back to shooting condition it will just make the satisfaction that much sweeter.
