Two-Piece Bases

Considering a two-piece scope mount base for a LTR 700 .308 for ease of top loading.

Haven't seen any discussions here. Got any recommendations for a set or should I just avoid them and stick with a one-piece. Definitely would want the most heavy-duty set available.

2 piece bases are easier to top load, Warne steel is a good deal - or Night Force also makes great 2 piece bases

Ken Farrel make a very good 1 piece that the sides of the rail are nicely rounded

I do have a 1 piece that has a 1/2 a middle rail on the left side, ?? don't know who makes it ? Leupold

Thanks, I'll look into those. Didn't know NF made them.

The only one-pice bases I've heard of with the ejectionport cut out (for short actions) are IOR and PRI but I don't know anything about them of how they hold up.

Wow, the Farrell looks like an extremely high quality piece - but still want to try having nothing above the port. Always used one-pice Badger rails.... sucks loading.

Any problem with taking a one piece base and having a little milled out to make more room for top loading?
