Hi all i would like as much input from all those who have two piece weaver basses fitted directly on your actions, i have two piece mounts on my howa 1500 in 223 and iv had issues with a scope i got from a guy at the gun club which wouldnt zero at 300 yards, he said id f***ed it and thats not the case!! anyway i told him that my bases were tappered higher at the back than the front to which i measured them and they were 3.88mm - 0.152" at the front and 6.72mm - 0.264" at the back so a difference of 2.84mm - 0.112" both him and another guy at gun club keep telling me they are not tappered or 20moa and all two piece bases are set this way one higher than the other so they keep telling me, so here is why i need your help please can all who have two piece bases please take a look and see if they are obviously different in height as mine are and if possible can you measure the difference between the two mounts please.
Thanks

Rick

Damn Rick, you're a thick headed SOB ;) . Unless some one is measureing thier bases off of thier own Howa 1500, its not gonna help you a bit. Those bases are made specific to the type reciever they are made to fit. I JUST took a set off a Springfield 03a3 reciever I bought that the front base was thicker than the back and it was a "0" cant... or level. And like I do any Weaver two piece aluminum base I get...I threw it in the f'n trash where it belongs. Once again, if your base was too high in the BACK or butt end, you would not be able to zero the rifle at SHORT distances....not LONGER distances...which is opposite the problem you're haveing according to this and your other thread. You've been given advice and taken none of it, why ask for more? Good luck with it brother.

Ok simple question the scope is fucking shit and i need some one helpfull to measure off there action with a vernier to the top of the front and rear base and let me know what if any difference there is, i know what your saying but until i get these measurements i cant turn round a say the guy who i got scope off has tried to palm me off with a didgy scope and i have refrained from doing this until i get all my facts correct in that my bases are or are not 20moa then to show which is fucked and which isnt simple no?????????????????????????????
