currently i use the redding comp neck die and seperate body die to bump shoulder .001-.002"
if i used a type s full bushing die can it be set to do the same ie bump shoulder .002 and size neck .001 smaller than a loaded round , if so saving time ?
is it as good as using two seperate dies ?

I just got a 6 mm XC with separate dies Redding, and I have to other sets for 308 Win and 6,5x47L,

I "feel" that I get/got a better feel for the bump in the body die only however,

tvice the time in reloading just to have a god calibrated case, no, that is not something I would prefere.

I use one Redding type S full length sizer die. Works great.

on another thread on here its suggested to use the fl ts then the neck die,
only thing to do is buy one on saturday and experiment!

You can produce excellent quality ammo with only using a type-s F/L die and thus F/L sizing every time.

Try using a spacer under your lock ring when you don't need to FL size. The FL bushing sizer is more versatile than the neck unit when used with a spacer

Might try sizing only 1/2 or 3/4 of the neck... That is an old-timers secret for neck sizing. Got an RCBS .44mag or .357 die set with the crimp spacer? Experiment with that and see what your results are. Until you encounter difficulty closing bolt, no reason to FL unless you're shooting a semi-auto.

If you size only 1/2 the neck, your brass retains chamber concentricity. Benchrest guys often load their cases with the same headstamp orientation to eliminate just one more variable.
