U Motorcycle Guys

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

1) That's in Moscow
2) Too bad noone opened their door to spit some chew...

Perhaps I should pull YouTube videos of drunk douchebags shooting each other with body armor on and title it "U gun guys".

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

HaHaHaHa... LMFAO!!! While I do ride a sportbike (RC51) I have to say guys like that give us all a bad name. My ass puckered more than once watching that video! When you ride a bike that's way too fast you naturally have an urge to let it breathe from time to time. But please fellas... Let's keep it confined to empty stretches of highway where the only one who gets killed when the ride goes bad is our dumb-ass for going that fast in the first place. Don't fool yourself. Sportbikes weigh around 400lbs and then add your weight to that. Something that heavy going that fast can kill the passengers in a car too.

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

Ya know... There is one thing I've discovered when it comes to motorcycle crashes... (and this is coming from having been involved in them as well as witnessing them.) Almost all of them were avoidable if the motorcycle rider had used common sense or had been paying attention. Obviously, this doesn't apply when a car crosses the centerline on a curve, leaving no time to react. But I'm tellin' ya... and I've been riding on the street for over 30yrs... most of them are avoidable. You'll also find that the rider involved will almost always blame something other than his screw-up. Trust me, I've seen it and even been there!

I crashed right in front of Daytona Speedway during Bike-week when someone turned onto Bill France Blvd from the left lane in front of me. Granted, what he did was wrong, but if I had been paying attention to what was going on around me instead of the other Bikes around I would have had time to react without crashing. You have to dig deep to admit something like that (Especially when eye-witnesses are on your side) but it was definitely my stupidity that really caused the crash.

I fully expect to get flamed for posting this stuff and I mean no disrespect to those who have been gravely injured or lost their lives due to a Motorcycle accident...

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

I love twisting the throttle offa my cafe sporty on a good piece of road, but the days of whitelining the I-5 are long gone. Maybe it's a GOOD thing TN has laws against whitelining(lane splitting for you non riders).

one shot...one of these?

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

Here's mine... Pre-crash. Fortunately I added Vortex Rearsets and Frame-sliders before the crash. I did, however, have to shorten the cans because one of them was cracked in half in the crash.

OH, and that was by no means the only time I've crashed... And they were all avoidable.

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

I'm a cruiser/harley guy. While there are douches on all kinds of bikes as well as in life in general, the sport bike crowd seems to have a much larger share of them.
Just last week saw 2 of them turn a corner, rip it into wheelies, one loses control and slams into his buddy and both go down.

That had to be hilarious to watch! Tragic, but hilarious. Especially for a Harley guy! I'd have to agree that more Sportbike Riders are knuckleheads... But there are a couple reasons for that. First: They tend to be the "younger" crowd (except for me, I'm 47) and for some reason younger people seem to think they're bullet-proof and too quick to screw up... WRONG on both counts. Second:(and this one does apply to me) Sportbike riders are riding a machine that is built for speed and agility. It's a little difficult to ride such a machine and not want to test some limits.

I have the utmost respect for anyone who is willing to hop on any motorcycle and ride on the streets.

Re: U Motorcycle Guys

Dang, man, I just had a guy in a Dakota puke his driveshaft and nail me with most of u-joint a half hour ago as he tried to impress me with his acceleration from a stoplight (i was riding my V-Star 1300). If I'd been going more than 15 mph, it would've really hurt!

Completely unpredictable and wonky crap like this is why even someone with lightning reflexes riding a fine machine in excellent mechanical condition should keep it sane and reasonable when around traffic. I have a lead foot/ heavy right wrist and love to haul ass and hear my floorboard feelers grind. But I reserve that kind of behaviour for the track, abandoned back roads, and open stretches of highway where I'm the only one to suffer if I biff it, and someone elses inability to drive, their piss-poor vhicle maintenance, or even a catastrophic parts failure on their vehicle won't kill me.

Irresponsible jagoffs like the one in that video need a serious ass whuppin' before they end up killing someone else with their antics (I could care less if they croak themselves).
