Wow. I thought they might put on a decent card for the first fight of 2010. Very few good fights. Mostly unknown fighters. Then there's Thiago. WTF! He spent the first two rounds acting like he didn't even show up. Decides to do a little in the third, could have finished it, then quits again. Then he acted like he couldn't believe he lost?

Thiago looked frustrated.. he couldnt do anything the first two rounds and seemed to throw a fit like a 4 yr old in the last round.. I'm sure he isnt happy with his performance and will come out like a badass in his next fight..
but one thing with the UFC seems like there is a pay per view event every other weekend latley.. maybe the named fighters are getting tired..?? seems to be getting alot more flashy and more gimmicks as time goes on.. hopefully folks being greedy wont ruin the sport..

Rashad was much faster than Thiago. Thiago has problems with faster ighters and gets frustrated. He caught Rashad in the 3rd round and should have finished him. Rashad needs to be a little more cautious next time. He got caught like that against Machita.
The other fights were actually pretty good, but the fighters were not very well known.

well me and the wife refuse to do the pay perview anymore,the fights arn't worth the dollar,i am glad that rashad won though he was my pick.

I think Silva expected Evans to gas out in the last round and he could finish him off then, but halfway through the last round they were both out of energy it seemed. Seems more and more fighters are being alot more conservative with their fighting style.

Junoir Dos Santos....Wow!! he looks for real. Rashad should drop down to 185. Silva had to have known he needed the knockout to win in the last round...if he had'nt expended all that extra effort looking like a fool he might have been able to finish it. Stout looked great...awesome stand up.

Felt bad for Dustin Hazelett, he is a KY guy and he got ROCKED with a vicious left hand. His submission skills are insane though, he should have went to the ground.

Yeah it was a sad fight. I cant stand rashad but i knew hed win. I wanna see Fedor Emelianeko vs. Brock Lesnar WOW now that would be a fight.

Thiago did act pretty stupid in the last round, but I think he was pretty gased too & tried to play it off by his antics......either that or he really is STUPID!!
Sometimes it's hard to watch these PPV UFC fights with the unknown fighters, but ya can't fight all the big names every month & ya got to build up the profiles of your other fighters so they will become a top draw someday......so I put up with it. Besides, sometimes the "no-name" fighters are hungrier & put up a better show.
I've heard Dana defend his fighter match-ups by saying that he wants to give the fans the fights they want to see, not necessarily what would be "right". I mean after all, did Brock really deserve a title shot after only 3 fights in the UFC in which he lost to Frank Mir in his very first fight??!! Hell no he didn't!! But, he certainly knows how to run his business.....

IF he ever does get to come back. Ive heard he isnt do well and has lost a lot of weight and muscle mass. He could be down the for the count.... which is a shame. he had potential to be great.
How do we think Kimbo Slice will do. His last fight in the Spike TV show was impressive.

Not sure what to think about Kimbo yet. He took a lot of shots in that last fight as was able to kind of shrug them off but I don't know how he will do I have mixed feelings about him. He has come a long way from what he was MMA wise but I am not sure he can catch up to some of these new kids coming in! They are starting younger and getting better and better every year. I think it is UFC 111 thats going to have GSP vs Hardy and Mir Vs Carwin both title fights. I like Carwin, seems very humble not a loud mouth like Lesnar or cocky like Mir.

I think UFC is turning into the next WWE as well. I have UFC 1-10 on DVD and I still get a lot of enjoyment out of the first 4 or 5. I love those episodes where there were no gloves and no rules.

Some of those old guys just need to retire and let the new blood get a chance.

I agree I dont think that the UFC is going that far. Of course they cant fight bare knuckle anymore if they actually want to fight in just about any state other then... well any! I think the rules that they put in place have protected the fighters which is very important!
I also agree they need to stop giving fights to these old outdated fighters! When is it time to give it up?! UFC 111 is going to be awesome! I hope that Hardy puts up a damn good fight against GSP I am sure he is training like no other! The Carwin fight should also be a good one!
