UH OH! Looks like a hoarder got caught

REALLY....you're asking that question? Now I don't condone if any are illegal but why should anyone care if you have 30 or 300?

It looks to me like he just has the inventory that he had when his FFL expired.

Are you serious? A "hoarder"? I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he was doing....I don't give a flat fuck if the communist/socialist state of NY considers some of his guns "illegal" or not. What I saw on the table looked like a bunch of run of the mill guns....nothing worth getting excited about. It sounds like he acquired them in a legal and responsible manner back when things were different prior to when he let his FFL or collectors license expire. This is the part that pissed me off:

"Police were acting on a tip from a gun owner who had taken his weapon to Steiner, said Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota."

Sounds like a guy who liked guns was ratted out by a fellow gun owner....and for what? Was he holding up liquor stores or gang-banging? doesn't sound like it. Selling drugs or involved in terrorist sympathizing activities? Probably not.....sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. Pass judgement if you want.

"

Its funny when you go from bragging about how many guns you have to lying about how many you have. Next thing you know you are remodeling you house and adding closets to hide safes so visitors dont see them and ask what is inside. Not me though, i only have a 22 and my grandpappys shotgun.

Im just guessing but I think if you kept track of this story that it will change to the better. All media hype.

His moron neighbor... "That's a lot of guns. It's scary."

We all know that facing down a bad guy with 300 guns in his hands is much scarier than facing down a bad guy with one.

Sounds like his crime is letting his FFL expire.

Who in the hell needs that many guns?

Trick question -- most of us need 2 of each guns that exist: 1 to collect, 1 to shoot the crap out of.

Thus, the answer is "nobody needs that many guns, because 300 is too few."

Must've rigged up one of these bushwackers.

As long as they are paid for who cares. If the shit hit the fan it would be nice to know someone I could borrow from in a pinch!

Don't worry about the guy that has lots of guns,

Worry about the guy that has a few and too much ammo.

If he had that many golf clubs no one would give a shit.

Wait a minute! He had a permit!!! It's called THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION!!!!!!

And as far as the gun owner who tipped the police off-----I can't think of a good enough punishment for him!!! Well, Actually I can, but I can't say it. Just goes to show, you can't trust any one!

Are any of you going to his defense, if not you should be protesting outside the court house.
This is how we are conqured one trumped up charge at time.

If they come to your house and you have thousands of primers and bullets and hundreds of pounds of powder you will be charged as an Arms Dealer.

Honestly it was probably smart of him to not have a stupid NY license because if he had he may have been listed in that NY newspaper who decided to list every gun owner around, which would have likely resulted in him being promptly robbed.

300 guns????

Whats the big deal. If he was obeying the gun a month law, thats only 25 years. Lets say he started at 21 years of age. Gun a month law say you buy one gun a month, so at 46 years old he should have 300 guns.

(or at least that's what I tell my wife the "gun a month law" means.

wonder how much more NY is going to get F**ked up, they might as well change there name to New East Berlin.. must have your papers on you at all times

"Who in the hell needs that many guns?"
You should have known better to pose that liberal question here...

It wasn't a liberal question and no, my (to that other poster) name is not Dianne. I know this won't sink in for the ones who have one way brains but there's more to life than just guns. Personally I think the guy has more money then brains. NO doubt those guns were legal till he didn't keep up the paperwork on his FFL. He brought all this on himself by not complying with the law. Because he didn't comply with the law all those weapons will probably be destroyed. So ya, more money than brains seems to fit here real well. I would of spent some of that money on other things like a nice little, fast airplane to go visit my mom. Or maybe a small yacht, or or or... I'm not to big on spending money on things your gonna just look at. Seems kind of silly. I once knew a guy and when I asked him how many guns he owned he likes to say, more than I can count. Well the poor dumb bastard probably couldn't count past 10. So you can defend this guy all you want but being stupid is what got him in all this trouble.

I see, now you're Big Brother telling people what is OK to want and what isn't OK? Just because you don't want something doesn't mean I can't want it and that my desire is somehow wrong or invalid. I may not drink huge sodas, but I respect your right to have one if you want.

Damn...fed the stupid troll again!

300 sounds like a good number to me. I do not have anywhere near that much but I do not let anyone know how many I do have.

Anyone who has that kind of cash tied up onto firearms is not going to go around committing crimes.

I wunder if it's not OK to hoard torlet paper too. If that's the case, I'm in deep doo doo.

Respectfully, I disagree with you. The Second Amendment has bee trampled on far too much. NY does not have the right to demand pistol permits to own guns. There is no Constitutional power given to NY to regulate how many guns, nor of what type he has. Therefore, all of this is bogus, and government run amok. It is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, that he doesn't need that many guns. His opinion is at variance with yours, and you both are entitled to those opinions.

I just re-read the article. Looks like he did violate NY law, but you won't find that law in the Constitution. Can you say Oathkeepers?

http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2009/03/03/declaration-of-orders-we-will-not-obey/

I just checked out your link, and I like it. That being said, I believe the UCMJ clearly outlines that it is the duty of any soldier to refuse to obey an order which he knows to be wrong----as in violation of his Oath to Support and Defend The US Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

If you reread my first post this is what I said "Who in the hell needs that many guns" (big eyes go here)? Nowhere did I state that he shouldn't own those guns. Ain't no skin off my teeth if he owns that many guns. And he probably wouldn't be in any trouble if he kept his firearms license current. Whether you own 1 gun or 10,000 you still have to obey state and federal laws. I myself have no need or want to own that many guns. Some laws do suck but you still have to obey those laws.

At first I thought the OP was just being sarcastic...

To the OP: Perhaps he saw them as an investment, perhaps he liked to collect them, perhaps he liked to get naked and rub himself down with Hoppes and CLP and roll around on the floor with them...who the hell cares and it's really none of your business. If you'd rather purchase airplanes to visit your mother, or yachts more power to you, but keep your nose out of others business.

Just because he chose to spend his money on something you wouldn't doesn't make him (or anyone else) small minded or stupid.

Pretty arrogant position if you ask me.

you need a pistol permit on Long Island for possession, he should've kept that FFL current or abandoned Liberal Land a long time ago...poor SOB, I hope it doesn't go too south on him

Wait, y'all are mad because he was doing something illegal? His license to have these firearms expired, now he is in possesion of illegal firearms. Pretty simple, you want to keep them, renew your license.

So will that be your response when the govt outlaws guns in general-----"Pretty simple, turn them in."???????????

except he is violating a known law, a law he willingly broke. Not even close to the same thing and the government ain't taking away guns, don't be stupid

I didn't ask you so keep your nose outta my business. ;) Hey isn't that what you just said to me? Personally I don't give a rats ass about him having 10 or a 1000 guns. All I did was bring a media story here. Maybe some of you guys will feel better by sending him post cards and flowers in care of whatever prison they put him in. I not buying into the investment thing because right now with all the hoarding driving up prices and many guns and ammo's not available this would of been the best time for him to cash in big time and there still all over the house, or were. But fear not, I'm going to ask the fed's if they will send some of you guys dry, clean hanky's to cry and blow your nose's on. You just don't (I don't care who you are) fuck with the feds.
