I am curious to hear feedback on those who have used an Ultra 7 223 specifically on an AR in the 16" range. I am very familiar with the TBAC specs and all of their youtube videos. My questions are mainly in regards to the temperature threshold and how much additional back pressure the Ultra adds to the system. Would a rate of fire that may be found in gas gun PRS and similar activities get up there towards that 800 degree area prompting an extended cool down period or is it not much of a concern? I am not doing mag dumps, but the 5.56 suppressors I am used to have never given me a reason to even think about it. Additionally, what kind of back pressure increase do you guys see from unsuppressed? Would a well-tuned unsuppressed setup still be good when adding the Ultra or is its pressure more significant? I am not looking to have adjustable gas blocks. My experience is with Knight's NT4's, various Surefire models, and Ops Inc, so I want to stick with being able to set a rifle up with the right buffer and forget about it whether the suppressor is on or off.
I already own an Ultra for larger calibers, so I am already sold on them. My main interest for my 5.56 application is the lightweight of the Ultra, I just want to make sure the typical use isn't going to be an issue for the heat rating.
Thanks!
