So I've been feeling quite under the weather lately which I put down to several things. I've been transferred to a different section which had a great atmosphere but very busy.. Been all achey and joints were very sore. I kinda figured I was just tired. I run on adrenaline a lot of times. I'd also put on a little weight which was a stubborn bastard to shift despite me upping my exercise.. So anyways I turned 50 last September and was putting off a PSA blood test. I went to the doctor yesterday and it turns out I've an underactive thyroid which explains a lot of the way i have been feeling. I lost a good bit of my thyroid after I had shrapnel removed from it. Medication is now almost a certainty. Doctor said it is no biggie that the meds would take care of it.. Have to get the PSA results on Friday..

my mom has been on synthroid for 20 years. She was on the strongest dose possible already. The generic version
did not work for her.
But several months ago after a complete diet change and lots of supplements
and many different holistic treatments, she quit them cold turkey. This was obviously a risky move.

After a couple months she took a blood test and her thyroid levels were normal.

There's a lot conventional medicine doesn't understand about the thyroid.

There's a lot of info out there. Research.

Diet overhaul, colon cleanse, liver cleanse and kidney cleanse(in that order) would probably help. Hell, it would probably help everybody!

Fuck. That is a nasty place to get hit. Lots of critical systems all around it. That's some good looking out on the battlefield Jesus! God bless you, and you will be in my prayers.

Thank God a thyroid hit with shrapnel kept working at all! How's your noggin? My buddy Bryant is going to be moaning and groaning for the rest of his life from a very bad one. He has some healed injuries, but the TBI is the thing that fucks with him.

I would try the Western medicine first, and not resort to voodoo unless it doesn't work, but that's just me.

Well the wife might dispute the brain damage.. But it's good TGTG.. I was lucky. Shrapnel is a nasty fucker.. Went everywhere.

I can't say I know your exact situation, but my wife was born without a thyroid and she takes synthroid for this (Hypothyroidism).

There are times she forgets to take it for up to a week, but God she's miserable to be around.

Most family care doctors have little to no experience with this and a specialist is best to go to.

She lives a normal life as anyone I know, but she gets cold very easily.
( All women are crazy so I hesitate to compare that part).

If you have any questions about Hypothyroidism pm me.

Well fuck a duck.. And I genuinely mean fuck a duck..

I was called by the nurse from my doctors surgery a few minutes ago and she told me all my blood tests came back clear.. Prostate, liver, kidney, thyroid.. All within limits. But he still wants to see my about the blood pressure.. Chances are according to the nurse I may still need meds to bring it down but also according to her I'm only about 1 stone / 14 lbs overweight so even then its not bad.

Guess the wife isn't getting rid me thjs quickly ?
