I see where the MLR2 is for the FF plane scopes. But can I get some background on why they designed it the way they did?

And why people prefer it over the MLR, or do they?

Re: Understanding MLR and MLR2 NF reticles

When you reduce the magnification on the FFP F1 scopes the reticle changes size, so the increase in the reticle lines make them easier to see at lower magnification.

The other improvements were just gravy, but with a FFP scope you have the reticle adjust to the magnification so seeing the lines with a standard MLR reticle is very hard to see off max power.

Re: Understanding MLR and MLR2 NF reticles

So they made the lines more bold like the regular Mil Dot.

I found they do get quite small on the regular Mil Dot with FFP. But certainly doable.

Thanks

Not bold, just longer on the mil lines so there is a bigger difference from the half mil.
