Anybody got a good recommendation on where to purchase 500 rounds of 308? I tried US Armorment and that didn't work out. I have no problem providing a picture of my driver's license for verification but I called to make sure it was a legitimate request. Also, my driver's license shows my billing address, not the shipping address and wanted to make sure that wouldn't be a problem. never got to ask that question. The experience was not what I expected. Been a very long time since anyone has been that rude to me on the phone. I got so much attitude from whoever answered the phone that I just canceled the order. Somebody was having a very bad day.

Anyway, I'm looking for an ammo source for match grade 308 ammo on an on-going basis. Any suggestions?

Vizards asked me for a pic of my driv lic too couple of weeks ago when I placed an order. 1st time i'd ever ordered from them and 1st time anyone has ever asked for a pic of driv lic. I cancelled the order and placed another order with ammoliquidators.com since they had what I was looking for in stock. No complains. Everything came on time and they had one of the lowest prices around for match 260 ammo. They got Fed gmm 308 in 168/175 for $21.
My usual places to order are Sgammop and powder valley.

Use AmmoSeek and you will always know where the cheapest source for ammo is.

FGMM can be had from a variety of sources for $20/box.

If you want something more consistent than FGMM, Prime is one of the best sources. However, it is $32/Box so it is more pricey but it has better SD than FGMM.

I can third prime ammo. They are quick and great to order from. Gotta appreciate great service. I have also had great experience with Selway Armory in MT. Arrived less than three days after order and good prices.

Sgammo has ALWAYS been great for me and i have ordered a shit ton of ammo from them. Any place that want my drivers license for ammo can kiss old bobo right on the head.
Prime ammo is also very good, fast shipping and super accurate.

I've had to provide my DL for ammo I purchased as far back as the late Clinton Admin. And the Bush Jr. admin. Everytime I found a new source, they asked for a license. It's what they are supposed to do by law. At least to ensure their end of the deal that you are over 18.

Before the Clinton Administration, I never ordered online. But, I often had to provide my license, or some form of Gov't issued ID when buying in person from someone I did not know.

As far as ammo on line, I've bought from Midway, Sportsmans Guide, Sportsmans Warehouse, Aim Surplus, ammoman.com, Wideners, Southern Shooters Supply, Cabelas and more I can't think of. They all wanted ID.

And I have had the complete opposite experience in 50 years of my life I have never once had anyone ever ask me for id when buying ammo. Not wally world, academy, hardware store. Not Brownells, Midway, or any other online outlet. I have bought ammo as a kid and could barley see over the counter. But where i live if a teenager has a gun walking down the road he is going hunting not shoot a school up.

Much thanks for the ammo supply recommendations.

Now I'm off to prepare a separate post about optics. Optics are just one of the MANY questions I have. I sure hope folks are patient with a FNG.

I have had good experiences with Target Sports USA. I appreciate the free shipping for full cases, probably more than my UPS driver. A DL copy has never been asked for.

i haven't bought loaded ammunition online for years but when i did. i refused to give my DL. i would ask if they accepted a conceal carry permit ID. if they didn't accept that i would not make the purchase. i was NEVER turned down by offering my CCDW license
