Universal decapping die then sizing die

So I decided to start using a universal decapping die before sizing to help with case concentricity. So the question is after you deprime your cases and go to size them. Do you take the entire decapping rod out of your sizing die? Or just the pin?
I am using bushing dies and just bumping the shoulders back about 2 thou. And using an expander mandrel to help set neck tension

I took out entire decapping rod, but I stainless tumble immediately after decapping, then size. Removing the entire rod prevents the chance of accidentally hitting the case mouth with the rod.

I also removed the whole decap pin and expander. I decap, size, then open the mouths back up with a Sinclair mandrel.

I have noticed a major improvement in neck tension when seating bullets and my s/d dropped from like 11 down to 7

Remove the whole rod.

Clean
Anneal
Resize
