I originally just hung a rail on the factory handguards on my M4 to see if I liked the VFG/light setup. After using it for a couple years I figured out what I liked and what I didn't. When I saw that MagPul released the AFG, I jumped on it. It's more comfortable than my old VFG and allows for easier manipulation of the light.

I will try to get some pics of me actually shooting it later on. If you picture the way you normally grip a VFG, point your thumb up (thumbs up sign) then rotate your hand forward 45 degrees and point your thumb forward that is how this grip is utilized. You have the option of "thumbs forward" or placing your thumb over the top of the handguard. I got it for the "thumbs forward" grip because that is how I run a handgun.

Very slick set up. I just ordered a set of MOE handguards for my wife from a member on here and was planning on running a Surefire scout light in the same location. I'm not to sure of whether or not I'll be getting an AFG but it's definitely worth having my wife look at. What kind of rail sections did you use?

They are Falcon rails. If you order through Brownells website they are on the same page as the MOE handguard.

I may get a CTR or MOE stock at some point. I just don't know how durable they are. I have a UBR on my other receiver. It's waiting for money for an SBR build. I really need a shorter setup than this one. The M4 stock on this one is an RRA piece. It's gone through hell. I bent the pin pretty bad during a doublefeed on concrete. I called RRA and they had a new pin out to me no questions asked. I even told them I slammed it into concrete!

I don't have much time on it yet, but it feels very solid and locks in with no rattle. I would have no problem with using one on another build.
