Upper Reciever Question/ M4-AMBI mix

The post I had left earlier about a barrel problem. I realized after that how many spare parts I have.
Enough to build a Service style Rifle Length AR.

But the extra upper I have is a M4 Upper and the extra barrel is Non-M4/ AMBI. (Wilson 1-8"twist /20" SS HBAR)

Will they work together or should I just buy the right upper?

Every build I use thge right upper but this is just a spare parts build, it isnt no match target gun.

M4 cuts in the reciever and none on the barrel is a no-no.The tip of the bullet will catch on the edge and either jam or damage them.However, all is not lost.You can take a Dremel with a small grinder and carefully grind them in...I've done 3 like that and they came out fine.

Looks like I will be buying a new upper Reciever from BCM.
No Dremel cutting for me! I would just f$%* all up, im sure.

Anyhow the Dremel I got is the battery one not the plug in type, there is not laot of RPM on it. It would take me 1hr to grind it out.

What kind of a Dremel bit would you need to use if you were to do that? (just wonderin) im not attempting it.

I used a small triangle shaped stone, spun it as fast as it would turn,lotsa light, no coffee...and no rush.Support the upper at a comfortable angle for your hand and go easy.Remember....wear eye protection and you can't put metal back...
