Been looking around here and the net, You don't see much on the new B series scopes. I've been looking at the B-17 and there is not much on You Tube.
What is the general consensus on this scope? The EREK turret seems like a good design. How is the glass? Opinions?

Interested as well. I know John McQuay/8541 Tactical has one in. I emailed him a while back, he's going to do a review, no time estimate tho.

I'd like to see more quality through the lens views like the Optics Trade subtension vids on YouTube.

KSE's/Pitch Black Precision tracking vids were great, too. I hate him for showing that TT5-25 tho. My life is ruint.

I have a B-17. The knobs are nice and have solid clicks without any slop. It did take a moment to figure out the tooless re-zero since I neglected to read the directions the first time around. Once you know what you're doing its nice. Field of view and tunneling is the same as the older models. Glass is on par with the Gen 2 Razor. Overall its a solid build and bringing the cost down a little puts it about where I feel it should be.

Have a B17 in MPR reticle. Scope feels built like every other $2k+ Scope I’ve ever used. I like the layout of the reticle. Find the reticle usable throughout the entire range. It is a little on the thick side from 15-17x for precise paper target shooting. It does tunnel to about 5x but i don’t find it bothersome and can shoot it below 5x with no issue. I actually replaced an AMG I had on a 7saum with the B17 as I was finding the combination of too much power (6x) and thin reticle of the AMG harder to use for woods/piney areas. Overall I think I just seem to find the reticle thickness and design to better balance to my taste for the hunting side.

I like the turrets. Good balance of firm and tactile but not over done.

For being as long as it is and a 34mm tube it is actually fairly light weight. Just a bit more on the bulky side. I did get an opportunity to sluff it up and down some hills in Montana and it didn’t kill me too bad (scope plus gun is just below 12lbs)

I know I should but I haven’t ran a turret tracking test on it yet to say how precise tracking is. When comparing rounds in the app to the dope my observation is that they seem to line up but I have really only used it within 1000 yards on a 7 saum so the amount of travel hasn’t been crazy wrung out. I take some shots to a mile with it but wasn’t able to spot my misses that day to say definitely it was the scope. Will say I did have to back the power back to not overthrow the target. But at 15x power was plenty to see things without issue.

I’m not a good one to qualify on optical quality as I have a hard time getting into the details however it the image quality to me has been bright and clear and comparable to other scopes in the price range. Bottom line though I find the clarity and quality to not be lacking for what it costs.

I know that there’s been plenty of opinions on some of the specs when compared to its competition but overall I have been pretty pleased with it. If I end up replacing it it would likely be the result of going to something smaller dimensionally. But for the deviant hunter action it’s on now I’m limited to not being able to go too short so it fits that bill pretty good.

Thanks, guys. Encouraging report on the glass and interesting comparison to the AMG and Razor 2. The only other scope I'm looking at is the discounted M5Xi.

For the B-17 I am looking at the MGR reticle.

I have b17 and b25 scopes. Love them. Built super durable

Any tunneling? What's the edge to edge image quality through the zoom range? Reason I ask is clarity of Horus reticle at outer 1/3 of image. Can't find any decent through the lens pics or vids to make an educated purchase.

The two USOs I've had weren't that great image quality.

I really wanted to look at the B17.. but in the end, after realistically assessing my needs vs. wants, the LRTSi Bushnell, made more sense, with the price and then the 30% off rebate... And I'm pretty happy with it now that I have it... and it has the features I wanted and the reticle I wanted.

The image quality on the new b series is upgraded in my opinion over the er scopes. Looking through the two side by side i can notice a slight improvement

The tunneling is the same as the older models with slightly upgraded glass.
