Rifle Scopes Us optics ER25 5-25 or Vortex HD Gen 2

Let me start by saying I've never owned a USO but I've shot some friends rifles with them on their guns and they are nice scopes. I've owned a Razor Gen 2 and now own a Schmidt & Bender and the only difference I can tell between my S&B and the Vortex is the weight. I don't see the USO being an up grade maybe close to the same ball park but not an upgrade. At those price points pick the scope that has the features you want . No matter which way you go I doubt you'll be disappointed.

OK, I have the Vortex gen2. I can pick up the US optics ER 25 in like new condition for 2000 that would include a mount. I thought that I might try it out and if I didn't like it I figured I could at least get my money back. But it sounds like it will not be an upgrade from what I have so there's no sense in trying.

Not telling you not to buy it if you want to try something else as trying things is how you get a knowledge base but if you are expecting any upgrade you won't find it.
It depends on what is an upgrade in your eyes. To me I look at the overall of the scope's properties. I think the vortex has pretty nice turrets and zero stop, but the Erek knob on the Uso is really nice. I personally judge my Scopes glass quality by reading license plates from different distances. However everyone's eyes are different so one person's glass might look better to someone else's. To me, the Uso has better glass because I can read license plates at further distances. But you wouldn't miss a target with either one because of the glass. And on a side note, you can use either one as a club if needed.
You're not going to get anything with the USO that you're not already getting with the Vortex. I've owned US Optics scopes in the past so I do have some experience with them.
