So Todd sent me some paint samples. I used the Magpul Green this weekend and in a word it is AWESOME.

I didnt take that many photo's as I forgot to grab some gloves and I was covered in paint I didnt want to get on my phone.

The equipment I used was this starter kit from Cerakoat:
Cerakote Coatings: 1H-KITA6 6 Color H-Series Firearm Coating Kit
I used the LPHV Spray gun and measuring beakers.

For mixing the paint I used a small mason jar with lid. The glass cleans easily and stands up to solvents. Some wire, Channel Lock brand Dykes, Non-Chlorinated break cleaner, 99% Iso Alcohol and the brown scotch bright pad.

Paint was applied similar to Duracoat. I used a 1/10 ratio for the hardener/paint. The gun was set up to take two passes for complete coverage. I used the 50% overlap method for two light coats. The stock was allowed to air dry for 1 hour while I cleaned everything up. I then but the stock in my DIY oven and baked at 120 degrees for another hour.

Some thoughts:

This was a very down and dirty paint job as I only had a couple hours to get it done while doing other chores. The end result despite my rather lack luster set up is a testament to the ease of application of this product. The paint is slightly thinner than duracoat and sprayed beautifully. It covered very nicely without any runs. The paint hue is even and spot on. There is no glare but the paint doesn't look oxidized like I seem to get when I mix in the anti glare stuff with duracoat. Overall I am very happy with it.
