Using larger muzzle brake

Hello everybody just wanted your advice. I was told by a manufacturer that I can use a 30 cal muzzle break with 6.5. That there is negligible difference in recoil. Is this true as I am getting conflicting statements. I know that there are caliber specific muzzle brakes but if there was not and only a 30 available , I can definitely use instead of 6.5 with very little difference.
Is this correct??? Thanks for helping as I am still learning.

It’s simply less efficient because a portion of the gas is going straight out of the oversized bore of the brake, as opposed to hitting the blast surfaces. Its not a large difference though, and you likely wont notice it.

A well designed .30 break will be better than a mediocre 6.5mm break. The bore is not as important as the size and shape of what the muzzle blast hits.

You won’t feel the difference with a good brake. I have used .30 brakes on 6mm cartridges and they work fine. If you want a 6.5 brake then just get one but if you got a .30 you will be fine too.

Ok so let me tell you what happened. I bought a muzzle brake from this new company won’t mention name it’s very expensive. I had ordered a 6.5 for my new 25cm but instead they sent me 30 cal. I called today and they said I can use the 30 cal without issues. I’m just torn whether or not to send back as it will take probably another week of shipping. I decided to send back as I have been waiting so long already for all the parts anyways plus still waiting on my acc elite as well.
Just wanted people opinion. They said exact same things you guys have said.
