USMC M40 RVN Commemorative Receivers

Re: USMC M40 RVN Commemorative Receivers

Been a few threads pop up over the last year or two about these.

Too expensive, and company issues are things that I remember to pop up in them when they occurred.

As far as trigger assemblies and old style safeties, I have an older Rem trigger setup that might be coming off the rifle soon. Will PM you some pics.

I like IBA, but $950 for a stripped action seems extreme.

I bough a new unfired Remington M40 SSA for $1250.00 delivered. I had to look for a while but they are out there.

A new Remington 700 short action, with bolt & trigger assembly from Brownell's is about $400.00.Machining for clip slot & drilling for receiver sight should be another $200.00 Even if you add $50-$100 for shipping to you to machinist & back to you, you're are at &$700.00 ?? You are only lacking the old style trigger assembly which include the older safety, desirable in my opinion, but is it worth another $250.00?

Re: USMC M40 RVN Commemorative Receivers

That price is ridiculous.

When i can get a new Surgeon 591 receiver, that's stronger, held to tighter tolerances, has a better bolt assembly, full length machined rail, and integral recoil lug, for just a smidge more, Nostalgia fly's out the window
