I am currently having a .260 Rem built by Marc at Spartan Precision. I am relatively new to the long range game, but have been shooting a .308 with a Vortex PST 6-24 out to 600 for the last year or two.

This new rifle will be used in F class matches, and also hopefully in tactical matches.

I am trying to decide if I want to go with the USO or wait for the Razor Gen II to come out. Between my LEO discount on the Vortex and me working at a FFL and getting the USO at dealer cost, the difference between the two is around $400.

Either scope will be mounted in a Spuhr mount.

Please let me know what the pros and cons of either are, and what your pick would be given my situation and the difference in pricing.

I realize the Vortex isn't on the market so there won't be any firsthand experience and will be based off specs and some limited reviews, I'm just looking for some guidance as I'm having a hard time making a choice

You might have better luck asking a question on a scope that has been released and seen field use, jus sayin.

The Vortex does looks promising and at $400 less than the USO = a FREE SPUHR mount.

Yeah I know there won't be much actual use info out there yet. But I figured there are plenty of connected shooters on this board so maybe someone had hands on experience with a test/pre production unit. I guess I'll wait and see when my rifle is done, if the Vortex is out I'll go that route.

Thanks for the replies!

After doing some more research and talking to Marc at Spartan Precision, I decided on the Vortex and am going to get one from Marc.

I also called up Mile High and spoke with Dave who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He pointed me in the right direction for a Spuhr ISMS for my application and that is on it's way.

I have been extremely impressed with the communication and help I have received from everyone I have dealt with so far on this project. So here is a kudos to Marc at Spartan Precision, Joe Ducos for the work he is doing on my stock, and Dave at Mile High!

Can't wait to get this build done!!
