Is the RDP MOA or IPHY?

Also, I can't seem to find a good illustration of the reticle to walk me through the hash marks.

Another thing, does anyone make something like a basic video game just for the purposes of practicing dialing and working your reticle for holds?

I think Kruger21 meant in MOA or IPHY. You have to specify when you order. I have 2 USOs with RDP and simply love the reticle.

One is a 2010 build and IPHY for sure because it's on the build sheet. The other is a 2008 and I'm not exactly sure because I'm the 2nd owner and there's no built sheet on the box. Supposedly (and please correct me if I'm wrong) in 2008 and before if you did not specify MOA or IPHY, USO built it as IPHY.

Let me see if I can snap a few pics & update for you.

Re: USO RDP reticle question.

Thanks for the info. I bought a USO second hand and it came with the build sheet......I'll have to review it.

I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it or switch to a mil system.

Re: USO RDP reticle question.

Just do what I do, embrace indecision & at least keep RDP-MOA for target specific application, if coinage allows. After initial testing between the USO RDP and PR Gen 2 mildot, I'm noticing I acquire target & shoot faster with the Gen 2, whereas the 0.07 MOA/IPHY subtention RDP is a lot more accurate.

Re: USO RDP reticle question.

Well I was actually considering going with a Horus, maybe an H59.

I'm building a short tactical style rifle that I want to have options for really quick acquisition.

The problem is Horus charges so much for the rights on their reticle that it's ridiculous money to get in on one in a quality scope. A Nightforce scope with a Horus costs as much as my USO with all the bells and whistles.

I was looking at the HDMR and I've heard some good things about it....even that the glass is outstanding at that price break. But I started out with Nightforce and have moved to even more expensive (and presumably even better glass) and I'm not sure Id be happy going backwards.

Re: USO RDP reticle question.

You should try to get a hold of Randy, I think that's his reticle. I'll take care of you on a new USO if you decide to go that route.

I started a thread on whether the HDMR was just a fad, and it's clear there are a lot of folks seem to genuinely love it -- even 2 guys who said they ditched their S&Bs cause of the bang of the buck. The message I got from that was 'going backwards' definitely means different things to different people.

Thanks Hamstur I did mean RDP Mil, (must be a little dyslexic today) I had a USO SN-3 5-25 built with the RDP Mil reticle it was really nice with the fine cross hair in the middle, I didn't spend a lot of time with it because the scope was way too big and heavy for the rifle it was on.
I Rate the GenII XR reticle its one of my favourites, i have 3 scopes with this reticle not too busy but very useful.

Cheers
