I am thinking about getting an SN-4 with circle chevron reticle for my 16" .308 AR build. I've heard great things about US Optics in general, but would like to hear about the SN-4 itself.

I've got a SN-4 1.5-6x with the JNG MOA reticle on my 16" .308 upper. Unless you are dead set on 1-4x you should check the JNG reticles(MOA and Mil versions available) before you order the circle chevron. It is outstanding - maybe the best CQB reticle out there. On 1.5 power it's almost like using an EOTech but on 6x it is fine and precise enough for easy hits at 600. With the reticle you can range and holdover very well. Of course any USO you choose will be tough enough to pound nails with...

You mean this one? It's the best ever. You can put it on any caliber rifle and have a superb peremiter defense rifle
I love the Circle Chevron and used it constantly during OEF VII.
I think I'm the only guy in the last few years to give a serious beat down to an SN4 but USO stood behind their stuff and squared me away

Switch, you took the Circle Chevron overseas correct? Or did you use the JPJ1?

The Circle Chevron is the one you have in your collection that went to OEF VII that I gave a beat down to(same scope in the pic above).
The JPJ1 is on my AR M4gery and I likes it better for AR's when I have M855, but I prefer the Circle Chevron for it's ability to go on any rifle caliber to be easily redoped. The JPJ1 is a fairly limited use animal but straight cool when the ammo is on point. I love shooting it so long as the ammo is close to M855 spec
