Utah is in.

Battle lines so far.

"This Court should issue a declaratory judgment
that the defendant States have violated the Constitu-
tion and the rights of the Plaintiff in Intervention by
conducting the elections according to unauthorized
rules created by officials and courts rather than by the
pre-existing requirements of state law. And it should
further direct the defendant States to review their
election results in compliance with pre-existing state
law and count only lawfully cast ballots and thereby
determine who truly won the contest for President of
the United States. Only then will the public’s faith in
the election process be restored, and only then will
voters on either side of the intensely partisan divide
be able to find solace in a result that was obtained af-
ter a fair electoral fight, where every legal vote was
counted but where those votes were not diluted or ne-
gated by the casting and counting of illegal votes."

Its actually easy to read for a legal brief....

Hey, this looks vaguely like the map I laid out in another thread explaining that the most peaceful way to resolve any cultural issues is going to be secession. Vaguely speaking; Give the blues the Atlantic and Pacific coast states, the reds can run the middle of the country. Both as separate countries

That isn't likely to work-screw Balkanization.

Reds take it all as it has been, and should be; the Blues are not worth the time to try and split it.

Our founders didn't; the Civil War didn't split it...

It needs to be all or nothing and folks should decide where they fit in that model IMO.

One Nation, under God, Indivisible.... (sound familiar?)

Communists don't get God.

I'd have to really research it as to which direction to go, but after stability and fortifing the E/W and especially the southern border areas, I'd make a push for either the east or west coast chain. If the Free states can have Texas and the New Orleans port I think our supply chain would be intact (but I dont like being trapped within the gulf). However, we would need to detemine what made more sense in regards to taking the rest of the NE chain which is much more heavily populated or taking the western chain and then basically ending up at war with mexico and fucking china.

The civil war happened exactly because the confederacy couldn’t go their separate way. It should be plainly obvious that neither side isn’t going to cave to the demands of the other side. Is this how you settle differences in your daily life, by battling to the death with someone who you disagree with? That sounds like a very counterproductive way to achieve a peaceful society

Nope-not daily disagreements.

Just this one.

Who said anything about "peaceful?" I didn't ask for this shit... they handed it out proudly. I'll respond in kind.

Or we can just strip power from the fed and give it back to the states. If California wants to create a socialist utopia where healthcare is free, student loans don't need to be repaid and it's a crime to hurt peoples feelings that's awesome. Good luck and God bless. If Alabama wants to ban abortion, repeal the NFA act and cut welfare programs altogether Pelosi can shut the fuck up about it. Each state can balance its own budget, raise its own taxes and deal with the consequences or reap the benefits of those decisions.

What if we were to maintain a federal government and levy fed taxes just enough to support the military, maintain interstate highways and take care of the essentials. State and local governments handle everything else. Wouldn't that be great?

Come to think of it... wasn't that supposed to be how things work?

...What? If you don’t desire peace then move to Portland and start your own battle. I definitely don’t want some trigger happy monkey like you setting off a fight that is going to endanger my loved ones.

This isn’t the way even the worst divorces are handled. Husband and wife aren’t told, “no, you have to spend the rest of your lives fighting, miserable and depressed”. They work it out and go their separate ways

Almost. The founders detested a standing military. That’s why the constitution only allows for a navy.

I see now why some told me to ignore you.

"Trigger happy monkey?"

I am the LAST motherfucker who wants to pull a trigger. Ever. For any reason. But pull it I will should the need ever arise.

I am not speaking of you or your loved ones. Those who violate the Constitution, on the other hand... should know some are taking notes. Their tyrannical behavior, I'm guessing, will visit them one day like Christmas future.

Please, forgive me. Put on your mask and latex suit. I am not the monster you fear. Just comply with the masses. Nothing to see here.

True. Times have changed though. The world's a lot smaller than it was a few hundred years ago. We're not a cluster of colonies on the other side of the globe anymore either. A nationalized military is essential. I'm not opposed to states maintaining their own armed forces though as well.

So amend the constitution. I’m all for it as well but it needs to be done properly. That’s why we r where we r.

If both sides want to squabble about a few other states, like a few SW and/or NE states going blue or other trade agreements that’s fine. The way I outlined and the way it vaguely plays out in elections gives both sides a pretty equal mix of geography, arable land, access to ports and so on. If the new central gov is sufficiently neutered and it’s easy to start and grow a business there’s no reason to believe any supply chain will be irreparably damaged. As far as an actual hot war is concerned, the only way that’s going to happen is if we just adopt the same flawed foreign policy as exists now. And even then it’s going to be air strikes from afar, there’s no fucking chance anyone will put enemy boots on the ground with the even more concentrated number of weapons that would be in civili

Sure, that sounds good too. I’m not exactly sure which scenario is more plausible though

Are you fucking serious? From the first sentence you typed in this thread you’ve been nothing but hostile. And talking about politicians violating the constitution is becoming meaningless. They started that shit almost before the ink was dry

I totally get being amped up by the ridiculous situation going on right now. But going into this guns blazing and expecting to just exert your will on the other side is the perfect way for the federales to make even more terrible decisions(somehow) and fuck this up beyond all of our wildest dreams.

I have a spare bedroom.

You ain't leaving M'F'er! You're staying to fight, the enemy is only in the metro fer crying out loud and they don't have guns or even know what restroom to use! :ROFLMAO:

Thanks Doc, but Atomic41 makes a very valid point. Why should I change? DFLers are the ones who suck.

Hostile to whom?

You do you micro-brew.

I'm just stating an opinion. Good luck hugging this out.
