Does anyone have any experience with UTG/Leapers optics? I notice they are rather inexpensive and would like to hear about their quality.

I hope you aren't referring to the article Publisher posted on AIR RIFLE / PELLET GUN scopes. I remember breaking two Leapers scopes before I understood what good equipment really was. Leapers, UTG, Barska, NCStar, and a dozen others died on my .308 before I came to my senses and bought a decent scope.

What is considered a decent scope?

If you browse the site you will see lots of names (S&B, Premier, NF, US Optics, Leupold, IOR, Vortex, etc.) but you may not have to spend $2k-$3k on a scope. SWFA, Vortex, Bushnell, Nikon, Sightron, all make good scopes starting in the $300-$400 range.

You will also see the phrase "Buy Once, Cry Once" when it comes to scopes.
