Does anyone have a measurement of the width of the flat section between the 45 degree Vee on an AX or AICS chassis? In photos it looks like it's about .350" or so, but I really have no idea.

Thanks!

You can figure it out from this. The 90 degree vee is tangent to a 1.35" diameter (standard rem 700 diameter). The bottom flat is clear of the action by 0.04" IIRC, so the action only hits on the vee walls. So really the bottom flat doesn't matter. Also, the Vee doesn't make contact the whole length of the action, only the front & back. The chassis itself is 1.25" wide. Are you looking to make your own? Send me a PM if you are.

Thanks for the help! I'm not ready to make my own chassis--I was just looking to calculate clearances on an octogon action (Stiller Spectre).
