I have a lead on an Accuracy International AE MKI for less than $800. I don't know much about them, but is it worth it? The price seems too good to be true.

Beat to hell trade-ins still fetch in the 4-figures. Just saw a well used Mk 1 bring $1700 on GB. Even if the barrel is a smooth-bore and the skins beat to shit, I'd pay $800 for a used AE action. So yeah, seems too good to be true.

Seriosuly though, my first AI was an AE MKII folder that I paid something like $2200 for with a 20" .308 barrel, one of those rare Surefire 7.62MB brakes found on the M40A5 or whatever, and an action wrench. If I had only paid $800 for it, I wouldn't have had to sell that one to bump up to the AT! If the deal is legit, jump, and fast! Single stack 5rnd mags aside, AIs are fantastic rifles, and a purchase you can't go wrong with at $800!

Buy it. Mile High still has Mark1 magazines available and can spin up a new barrel. I'd have them go over it head to toe while its there.
