I had a conversation with Vectronix earlier this week. In that conversation it was mentioned that they are upgrading their Bluetooth software to improve compatibility with other vendors, including Kestrel.

Does anyone use a Vectronix 25CBT with the Kestrel Horus (or Kestrel Applied Ballistics)? If so, have you had any problems? Opinions?

Did they say if it would be apple compliant? Pretty sure the kestrel is not.

Even though I use Mac OSX I did not ask Vectronix about Mac OSX, simply because, as you mentioned, the Kestrel is not Mac OSX compatible.... yet. It was inferred that the new Kestrel Applied Ballistics might be Mac OSX compatible.

In a somewhat different venue, I am especially surprised at the dearth of Ham Radio software for Mac OSX.

The kestrel and plrf are Bluetooth 'clients', not 'hosts'. Note on a Bluetooth kestrel there is no option to pair with a second Bluetooth device or 'connect' to another device. They are both kind of the 'dumb' end of the Bluetooth connection, like a Bluetooth headset.

But I believe that Kestrel is working diligently on IOS support (iPhone/iPad)

I'm testing a Vectronix 15c that communicates with a Horus Kestrel. Its pretty awesome, you simply range the target and a PLRF screen pops up on the Kestrel to accept target range. You can also assign range to one of five target screens. I brought it down last year to the International sniper competition to show it off after I competed to the other units. It was a hit.

Its still in the beta phase and Kestrel is looking at other options as well since a 15c isn't within the budget of the majority of shooters.

I'll get some pics up in a bit.

I've used a Mosquito with FFS, the Nomad PDA was able to recognize the Mosquito and he Mosquito as able to recognize the Nomad, but the BT connection to trasfer datas was unable to works, no problem with the cable.
