There was a thread on here in the past 12 months, maybe 24 months, were someone came on this board and stated their problems with Vectronix (Safran) and their LRF device, to which they were getting no support for fixing the problem. A Safran rep came on and told the OP to reach out to them directly. Safran or Vectronix was even in their handle.

Anyone with better search fu able to find this person or recall the handle?

Help is appreciated.

Bingo! Thanks Theis.

Travis Woodbury is handling a lot of this stuff here in the US,

I can see if he can register on here too

That would be a great addition to this community.

For clarity, I do not have any issues with my PLRF25c, but I have some questions about compatibility with the Garmin Tactix Ballistic. The Terrapin-X works with the Garmin, but the PLRF25c doesn't. I suspect it's with the Bluetooth data packets and how they are received by the Garmin, but not entirely sure.

Garmin was absolutely horrendous at providing answers as it's "proprietary" or "we don't connect customers with product managers to discuss new features" or "we don't discuss ongoing projects or timelines." Hoping to leverage a Vectronix person to help me understand who they're working with at Garmin and how to help push entities towards device compatibility.

Getting some unexpected and very timely responses from Vectronix, outside of the channels discussed so far.

Vectronix is experiencing the exact same problem I am seeing and confirmed much of what I said. They are working with the Garmin PMs to figure out a solution and timeline.

My fingers are crossed we can get this thing working.

Just FYI, it's the BT configuration. The 25c follows the old Vector data protocols, the Terrapin uses the new iLink protocols. No one will tell anyone about the ILink, I've been working on it for a year and still have no real progress in getting working sample code.

PM inbound. Might be able to help facilitate that through this new contact.

Travis was able to connect me with Philip - this channel is saying the PLRF25c and Garmin (as suspected) have an issue with how they connect via the bluetooth protocol. Current PLRF devices don't have the ability to connect, but I'm being told future PLRF devices will if they get an update. My concern is, will it be an update to the PLRF25c similar to the Terrapin-X update, or will it be an entirely new $10k+ device LOL. One would think an update could be available for us considering it is bluetooth enabled (BLE).

Another channel seems to be the Vectronix Product Manager. Not much to work with here outside of confirming the PLRF25c doesn't work with the Garmin Tactix Ballistic. Hoping for timelines on when/if/how Garmin/Vectronix are workign together to make this feature available via a SW update to the BLE model PLRF25c.

Not sure how much further down the Vectronix rabbit hole I can go. I seem to be plugged in to the right folks.

Bluetooth has always been a PITA. A colleague in hewlett-packard was on the BT committee and all the committee did was travel and have extravagant events in places like monaco - was mostly driven out of europe - but that whole standard has been a shambles from day 1. even today i see a lot of connectivity issues with that stack.
