When I was growing up, one of our fellow church members was a gentleman who (who let's call Mr. L) was a WW2 P-38 pilot and owned a drilling equipment company. He had a lot of equipment leased to American oil companies in Venezuela then, poof! Venezuela nationalized all the oil industry there and any foreign country got kicked out. Mr. L lost beaucoup $$ and almost went broke.
Most here are probably too young to remember all this but it was a huge deal at the time. Anyway, Venezuela wouldn't be shit if it weren't for USA and European oil companies doing all the exploration, production, etc. needed to extract the oil So maybe what Trump is doing is partly payback and sometimes payback can be a bitch.

Unironically, Venezuela is the ONE country in the WORLD that the USA should annex. It has, by far, the world’s largest proven oil reserves.
