Now that these scopes have been out a while, what's the verdict on the IOR 4th Generation 3-18x42mm Hide Edition scopes...?

I haven't had any issues with mine. Glass is clear. Seems to track well. I never did a box test on it but it dials back up and back to zero every time. The only issue I have with it is the short eye relief. I had to mount mine with both rings in the forward half of the scope on a long action 700. With the ring in the rear the bolt handle hit the edge of the ring.

Mine seems to be fine. I might be selling it soon to get a 50MM version.

You shouldn't mount the scope with two rings ahead of the turrets and nothing behind it. Search around there is 700 LA mount that extends out a little farther to the rear for situations like that, when I find it I'll edit this post with a link.

Or just get yourself a 35MM one piece mount and then mount it rearward.

I had to do the same thing with mine. Stupid to build a scope you cant adjust more that 1/2 inch when mounted 'correctly'.

Mounting limitations shouldn't be an issue for me since the scope would go in a one-piece AR mount.
So were the supposed kinks from earlier versions worked out in the 4th Gen...?

I have the rear extended rail from EGW. The problem is that the handle still hits the corner of the ring. I was tempted to grind down that corner but I think it would still be too close. If I bring the scope back any further then the wind-age turret is in the way. The scope is just very short and bulky. Not sure if it is just for the LA or if it would be the same on a SA.

How much clearance do you need? If it's just an 1/8" of an inch or something I would either grind the ring or get taller rings.
A third option would be to bend the bolt but that's something you don't hear about too often anymore (look up mosin nagant sniper rifles to see what I mean by a bent bolt).
And yes it is a bulky, donkey looking scope. It's not particularly long but the turrets and turret box are clownishly huge.
