It's been 10+ years since the last time I shot 1000 yards, this past saturday I finally got back out there, despite crazy winds.

Mirage wreaking havoc?

What mirage?

That's nothing compared to what I deal with almost every time out past 300.

Nice shooting, though. You can use thinner steel out that far, for a brighter "ring" sound...

The mirage was in and out, just a couple minutes after I did the intro on the video the mirage dropped way down as the sun went behind the clouds. It wasn't all that bad really, with that much magnification on the camera though it really made it appear really bad.

The load was Lapua neck sized brass, RL 17 powder (48.0gr) and seated long. The load is pushing the limits though, i'm getting ejector swipe, and only the occasional stiff bolt lift. I'm going to back it down, yet again. I think that i'm going to go with the 175 SMK's for the summer though, less recoil and i've been shooting those better, it's a lot more manageable.
