    The reporting is a mess.

I dont know how a man at the Battle of Bunker Hill can be the grandfather of US Grant and the GREAT Grandfather of Merriweather Lewis.

    Typical screwed up Brit reporting...

    Interesting to be sure.
My question would be who documented who shot the first round to begin the battle ?
Seems to me most if not all of the folks on both sides had to be scared and nervous at what was about to happen.
I guess one patriot had his parchment , quill pen and ink at the ready when the SHTF and knew everyone of the minutemen, soldiers and militia men in the trenches by name.

No offense but that's a bit hard to swallow in my book.

Good stories sell to the uninitiated in the world of BS provenance. While the ownership may be proven (didn't read the article), the feat would be hard pressed to verify. I too, am skeptical.
