Hey all,
I currently run a 20 moa canted dual dovetail setup with a 42mm Nikon Monarch and a gentleman here on the hide offered to trade me for his Viper PST 4-16 FFP plus cash.
I'm thinking about taking off the dual dovetail setup and going all aluminum EGW 20 moa rail. They're only like $36 on Optics Planet so are they any good? Seems they also offer an HD version for like $30 more.
And for the rings I was looking at these possibly:
http://www.opticsplanet.net/weaver-four-hole-skeleton-ring-weaver-1-30mm-rings.html
http://www.opticsplanet.net/weaver-1-30mm-tactical-ring-6-hole-picatinny.html
Are those any good? How about the Burris Xtreme Tactical line?
If I could afford quality rings like NF I would but right now I cannot.
Not sure if my logic is correct, but that 20moa base is going to get me +6mils of adjustment on the Viper PST, which has 19mils of internal travel (total = around 15.5 mils from zero, right??).
This will be my first mil/mil scope so go easy on me as I'm trying to learn the system.
I *think* I'll have 15.5 mils of travel from zero, thus allowing my .308 to reach out to 1000 yards if I want to take it that far.
Sound right or did I fuck all that up?
