Rifle Scopes Voretx Viper PST 6-24X FFP

Got it in today and have mounted it and aligned the reticle.

At this point I'm very pleased. Headed to the sight-in range tomorrow.

Caveat, I'm old and my eyesight isn't what it used to be:

I can discern 7 different reticle illuminations in pitch black darkenss, not 10 as described upon the rotational indicator.

I had the same with both my PST's. I could 8-10 in broad daylight, and a few of the lower settings at night. Personally I think 10 different illuminated reticle settings is retarded unless you are switching from green to red... I like my NF's either on or off reticle.

I will again add that I bought my pst 6-24FFP as a hold-over until the S&B that I wanted became available.
Due to my experience with my pst....I'm keeping it.

I have owned every scope out there and I have to say the PST is a very nice optic. I figure I dont shoot people for a living so I really dont need a $3k scope.

The first illumination powers are not meant for regular use, the first half are meant to be used in conjunction with night vision....says so in the manual atleast

"Box" test went fine. Coaxial alignment test went fine. Very pleased with the optics. The "sweet spot", with respect to eye relief is very small compared to other scopes I've used, but once set in works quite nicely with the proper cheek weld and consistent positioning.

The graduations, at 100 meters, are spot on. Will check them at 200 meters next week when I get to my long range.

So far, 100% happy.

Been thinking about a scope upgrade would you say the viper of nightforce is better in terms of quality for the money?
