I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's a great scope for a short light rifle.

I guess if you were going to do a lot of really early or late hunting/calling, maybe a bigger objective would offer better viewing. I'm just thinking out loud, my experience hunting in low light is non existent due to hunting regs in my area.

I've got a NF 2.5-10X32 on my 20" SPS Tactical .223. Sweet combo.
Go for the Vortex, I think you will like it.

Not exactly the same but I was running a 2.5-10X44 PST on my 20" 223. I found it was about perfect except for the lack of parallax adjustment. From all accounts the new 2.5-10x32 is better than the x44 so I imagine it would be just fine on an 18" rifle. As a side note I put the PST on my 16" AR for busting yotes and jacks in the desert and it is working out very well.
