Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG Ring Torque Question

Vortex recommends not exceeding 18 in/lbs of torque, but the rings I am looking at recommend far more... ARC m10 (50-55in/lbs). Aside from the obvious, well then just don’t use those rings asshole.

What am I missing? Why the huge discrepancy? If they are safe to use, which manufacturers recommendation should I follow?

ARC's are a unique animal by design of the one screw clamp (vs a "traditional" 4).
You will be fine with the 50 in/lbs they specify in their directions.

I'm pretty sure I've read on here that the torque ARC recommends for its M10 rings is too high, but I can't seem find those posts. For the guys using those rings, what did you torque them too? I'll be using their 30mm rings on a Vortex AMG, if that makes any difference.

I have both my AMG’s in ARC rings torqued to 55 in/lbs, haven’t had an issue or concern.?
