Vortex Defender Cap Measurement

I'm wondering how much clearance is needed for a Vortex Defender objective cap. Does anyone have a measurement handy?

The rubber section is about .085" thick so with the harder plastic I would say if you gave it about .1" as a measurement for ring height clearance you should be good. What scope and rifle?

It's for 2 guns. I have new scopes inbound and want to buy rings before they arrive.

Surgeon / Medium Palma / Razor HD II 27x
Tenacity / Heavy Palma / Razor HD II 27x

If my calculations are right, 1.1" is probably my safest bet if I want to use the same rings on both guns. The stack height on the Surgeon is less and I don't think 1" will be enough there.

With a med palma 1" would most likely work on the Surgeon but 1.1" would be the safe bet on both.

Just to give you an idea here is a Surgeon with a 4.5-27 and caps in 1.26" height rings. I got them back before the 1.1 were available and the 1" were too low with the other M24 contour barrel on it.
