I just purchased a savage fcp-sr. 308. Looking for optics, I've pretty much decided on a vortex pst 6-24x50 ebr1. moa. the rifle came with a 20moa picatinny rail Wondering if this set up is capable of 1000yds (Im. a long way from that right now just wondering) any feedback would be great

The answer from everything I have read on this site and others (not based on personally having done so), the answer is yes. Scope and base should certainly be adequate. Most of what I have read seems to support the caliber's capability for target shooting at that distance. I am sure others who have actually shot similar setups at 1,000 yards can give you more definitive info.

Enjoy your rifle and scope.

thanks for the responses. another question comes up. how do I determine ringheight

I would recommend reading the posts (some of the posts will explain it well, others less helpful) contained in the sticky titled ring height info, in this (scope forum) forum.
