Anyone use this scope? I have been looking at them online for a while. I understand that they only have the elevation turret exposed, and not the windage. My biggest question is in regards to the 1/2 MOA per click on the elevation. Why would they do this? What is the advantage?

Re: Vortex HS 4-16 LR

Got my hands on one this weekend, they are very impressive for the money I have one on order. I have three of the Leupold's with the M3 turrets and they also have the 1/2 MOA adjustments. they work for me I'm not sure what the disadvantage would be other than less precise impact adjustments.

Re: Vortex HS 4-16 LR

Hawk, I've got the Viper HS 4x16x44LR on my newest rifle. Yes the elevation turret is exposed and does indeed have 1/2moa clicks. The windage turret is capped and has 1/4moa clicks. So far I've been impressed with all aspects of this scope. Fit and finish is great, clicks are positive and exactly as stated, parralax adjustment and power ring are both smooth and glass quality is excellent! I see no real disadvantages to having 1/2moa clicks on a scope. They are faster to use and are plenty precise enough for long range shooting.
